My movement story

Growing up with a naturally lean body, I always felt the need to build more strength and endurance. It wasn’t until my late twenties that I truly discovered my passion for Pilates and decided to become an instructor. Interestingly, my first teaching experience began when I was asked to translate for Korean students, and that opportunity led me to pursue a full instructor certification.

While studying Classical Pilates, I also trained in weightlifting, kettlebell, and clubbell techniques, along with badminton, which I’ve practiced for over ten years. Because I started training later in life, I often experienced lower back discomfort and even minor injuries. As I continued teaching, I noticed that certain muscles kept getting stronger while weaker ones were being neglected. That curiosity led me to study FRC (Functional Range Conditioning) and PRI (Postural Restoration Institute), which deepened my understanding of body asymmetry.

Through this process, I personally dealt with hip impingement, shoulder instability, and sciatic nerve pain, especially after kettlebell training without proper breathing. These challenges reshaped how I view the body. After years of research, consistent practice, and integration of multiple movement systems, my body has transformed — my neck curve has been restored, my core and lower back now support me in any position, and I feel more balanced and resilient than ever.

By combining breathwork, functional mobility, and Pilates principles, I now teach a method that helps others find the same harmony — building strength from the inside out.
